St. Albans Grand Prix, - St. Albans, WV
0.6 mile criterium USCF sanctioned race

Saturday - July 5, 2008

Races begin at - 10am

Course: Start / Finish on 6th Avenue near the police station and head towards 2nd Street. Turn right up 2nd Street (climb). Then turn right just past Fret and Fiddle and head downhill on Kanawha terrace and around the loop back to Start/Finish line on 6th Ave. (0.6 mile loop).

Do NOT practice this course as the section down Kanawha terrace and around the loop is a one way road heading east on Kanawha terrace, opposite of race course direction.

During the race the course will be closed to vehicular traffic with local police support and volunteers.

Registration: will be located at the Start/Finish area on 6th Avenue, beside of the local police and fire deaprtment.

REGISTRATION NOTES:

Cat 1/2/3 Jr may race in M123 and/or Jr class.
1 Day licenses ($10) only available for Jr,Cat 5 and Wm Cat 4 races.
Race results will be published to USAC.


Facilities:
: Porta potties will be located in the parking lot near the registration area. Also, the Universal Health Club located on B Street bordering the west side of the race course will be allowing race participants and volunteers ONLY to use their shower and bathroom facilities, must present race number at entrance and please do not wear cycling shoes inside.

Free Parking: will be available and marked.

Please be courteous and do NOT leave litter in lots.

2007 PARKING & DIRECTIONS:
Once in St. Albans and on Route 60 MacCorkle Avenue you have two ways to come into the course.

At stoplight with KFC & Go-Mart you can turn south on B Street and go over the railroad tracks. Go straight and St. Andrews church and the post office will be on your Right. You may park in those lots.

At stoplight with Tim Hortons & Taco Bell you may turn south and go under the railroad tracks through the underpass.

You can either turn right on 5th Avenue and then left on 2nd Street to First Baptist Church parking lot.

OR

You can go straight on Third Street (pass two more stoplights) and then turn right into Presbyterian Church parking lot.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the event please e-mail your name and phone number and time you can volunteer.

Example: 1 hour from 10am to 11am.

Volunteers will meet one evening prior to the race to receive instructions and t-shirts.
