HSSC MTB RACE PRESS RELEASE:

The Ace New River Bike Fest took place this past weekend. With the XC Minden Mudfest on Sunday. A course consisting of either blazing fire roads and trails or long fire road climbs.  It was a dry fast course, just get up some speed and hold on tight to get over the obtrusive rocks that try to break you down.

The course was 13 miles for Sport class and 26 miles for Experts.

After the race a great post race burrito meal was available to all racers with plenty of drinks too.

Special thanks to all of the volunteers and National Guards who came out to assist the racers at the water stops and keep us going in the right direction. And of course thanks to Tug Chamberlain for once again putting on a great race time for all.

The HSSC WV MTB squad performed well to take home some podium finishes once again.

Steve Thaxton raced in th Men’s Expert Vet. Class and took 2nd  place.

I, Amy Dunkin was there to represent the women and finished 2nd  place in the Sport Women class. I love this race, when it’s dry, it is super fun and fast. Always a great time to be had by all.
