Fat Tire Cycle Cancer Awareness Team
The West Virginia Mountain Bike Association’s season has come to an end. The season began April 23 and ran through October 1. Thirteen races were held at various places throughout the state with one race in Ohio. Hundreds of racers spent countless hours and miles on their bikes training in hopes of earning points for the series title.
For the members of the FTC Cancer Awareness Team there was another purpose. To raise awareness of breast cancer and the devastation it can cause on the women and families of those who have it. The owners of Fat Tire Cycle, Gene and Sara Wells, have battled the disease twice and were the inspiration for the team. The team as a show of support wore a unique camouflage uniform with a pink band on the sleeve and a pink helmet for the American Breast Cancer Foundation. www.abcf.org.

Thanks to the tremendous support of our sponsors the team raised over $3,800 for cancer research and support of cancer survivors. The following donated money or products to the team.
