6th Annual Giordana Crossroads Classic

August 3 – 6, 2006

Four exciting races in four different North Carolina Cities.

The 6th Annual Giordana Crossroads Classic kicks off in Salisbury, North Carolina on Thursday evening August 3.  Salisbury is located just 40 minutes northeast of Charlotte on Interstate 85.  The organizing committee in Salisbury has worked extremely hard to prepare an event that is not only exciting for the race participants but provides entertainment for the whole family.  We plan to have a large vendor area with food and ice cream, plus an area with giant inflatables for the kids.

Friday, the racing action heads northwest to Downtown Statesville where we always have a large crowd of spectators cheering on the race participants.  The L-shaped course in Downtown Statesville has been a race favorite since the inception of the Crossroads event in 2001. Back by popular demand, Delany’s Sports Bar and Grill (located just behind start/finish) will get the crowd worked up with the adult trike racing.  The trike races will run between the USCF events and will feature local politicians and celebrities.

Saturday, the racing well head to the old Charlotte Coliseum, as the downtown streets of Charlotte are being prepared for the $100k Bank of America Criterium.  Not only do all have an opportunity to participate in a great race, after the race you can watch the top pros in the Country battle for the $100k purse. www.charlottecriterium.org     

Sunday, Crossroads will head to Hanes Park in Winston-Salem for the finale of the four day event.  Hanes Park has been home to events for twenty plus years and provides a great setting for the end of fun series.
